Employment History:
I have a varied employment history, including three years at Co-op, two years as an Equestrian Groom at Millfield School, three years as a Receptionist at Dovecote School and three years working as a Freelance Groom. These roles have given me strong customer service, knowing the process of running a yard with 35+ horses on site, organisational skills, communication and transparency and practical skills.
Notice period: immediate start for the right yard
Competition experience: I have competed myself in unaffiliated dressage, BSJA, local shows, in hand showing, eventing, Pony Club and hunter classes. In my grooming roles, I have supported riders both at home and at competitions, preparing horses to a high standard. My experience includes clipping, plaiting, bathing, tack cleaning, loading lorries, fitting bandages/travel boots, preparing haynets and water, studs and competition equipment. I am confident with aspects of competition preparation and caring for horses both at home and away. Riding and exercising horses around their fitness and capability. Including young, green horses, ex racers, horses in rehabilitation, stallions and 2* event horses.
My current ex racer is in foal, this will be our second home breed (very exciting).
My interests/hobbies: I like to stay fit by attending the gym 4 days a week resistance training, I love dogs and going for long walks when I have the time.
I believe I should be considered for this position because I have a strong background in both horse care and competition grooming. I am hardworking, reliable and calm under pressure, with good attention to detail. I take pride in keeping horses happy, healthy and presented to a high standard.
When working with horses my day goes so quick, I really enjoy being active. Getting as many steps in a day to support my healthy lifestyle. My passion is horses and it feels second nature to me, having owned horses my whole life and worked with horses for several years.
I also love and can care for dogs, sheep, chickens, pigs, cats and donkeys.
I am practical, organised and happy to get stuck into all aspects of yard work. I don’t mind getting muddy or wet, long as I can dry off and get cosy at the be of the days work.
I work well as part of a team, understanding the importance of communication and also having a laugh with outside stakeholders to build a relationship and staff members to make the work place a pleasant place! I am also confident working independently (work stronger independently due to previous job roles).
I bring a positive attitude, pick up the team and be vigilant of staff wellbeing, a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for horses to the yard.
I am looking for a long term role and somewhere I can call home. (Role MUST have accommodation if longer than 30 minutes from home). I am happy to change location across any part of the UK and outside the UK.
