Profile

I am a hard working, trust worthy and reliable individual, who is highly motivated in completing tasks to the best of my ability. I am driven and I know what I need to do to succeed. I have a foundation degree in horse performance and coaching alongside doing the rest of my BHS stages. I also have a work-based level 3 diploma which is equivalent to bus stage 3 and allows my to teach. I have excellent customer skills through many years of dealing with clients within many different settings. Experience

I have had horses and ponies since before I can remember and have always been passionate about them. Through out my childhood I assisted in the breaking, schooling and training of many young horses and ponies, taking them to pony club, hunting and competing them as part of their education. More recently I have kept my horses for hacking and competing when the opportunity arises. I have been fortunate to have experience of many different types of horses and ponies from miniature Shetlands to thoroughbreds to shires more recently. I have years of experience of caring for numerous types of horses with all different needs, temperaments and treating different wounds and illnesses.

I have a lot of experience in working with the public from working in numerous pubs and restaurants which has helped me gain great customer care skills and confidence of dealing with a range of clients even the difficult ones.

Teaching at the various has given me skills of teaching and keeping safe children, adults and people with a range of different mental and physical abilities. I have also gained experience of teaching from the age or 2 years old at Denton Hall which has different challenge to teaching 4 and above. I am currently doing some freelance work teaching while training towards finishing my teach 2, teach 3 and stage 4. Employment

Killhope cafe/ The Queen Victoria in Alston/ The Crown in Catton/ The heart of England 2012- 2020

I have worked in numerous bars and cafes taking a range of positions including reception work, bar work, cleaning and cheffing. I also worked at the crown and now the Heart as a chef part-time.

In these positions there is often high pressure situations where I have learnt to be calm and focused on completing tasks to a good standard.

The Old Vicarage Stud 2014 April – 2015 June

The stud had a variety of ponies from Welsh A, B and C’s, Shetlands and Fell ponies. Here I was responsible for general yard duties and training, starting off and schooling many un-touched youngsters and stallions. I also groomed for many shows and showed in-hand at the royal highland. I learnt a lot from the ponies at this stud and really enjoyed my time there but needed to gain more experience of teaching people and learning from more experienced trainers.

Cumbrian Heavy Horses 2015 June – September

Here I work directly with the public, taking clients out on rides on the heavy horses. It varies from fast paced rides for the more experienced riders to steady rides for complete beginners where I have the opportunity to teach along the way to improve their safety and experience.

I also got to ride and train the more green horses to enable them to be used for clients. I take part in all the daily yard tasks, grooming for public appearance, care of any wounds/illness ect. Although I had not been there for more then 2 months I was trusted with taking bookings, making decisions, delegating and was given considerable responsibility.

I thoroughly enjoyed working for Annie at Cumbrian heavy horses, however, I had to start my foundation degree which was 2 1⁄2 hours away in Northumberland.

This yard has hunters and top show horses. I was responsible for general yard duties, lunging and exercising the horses. The yard was ran meticulously and has high standards for welfare and presentation.

Crag side riding stables 2016 June – January 2018

Here I started doing all yard duties, schooling ponies and teach children both in riding lessons and in general yard skills and handling horse’s safely and correctly. I enjoyed teaching here and it was great training for my teaching exam’s.

I enjoyed my time there and learnt a lot from the highly experienced instructors and excellent school horses, but it was in Gloucestershire and I did not like being too far away from home. I also assisted on the regular dressage and showjumping competitions.

This is a very busy yard with a great variety of clients. I was responsible for teaching, schooling horses and ponies, taking out large trekks, running the pony club and general yard duties.
