Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Having worked within the equine industry for many years I have gained experience working with foals and youngsters through to top grand prix dressage horses and stallions, giving me the ability to handle any horse that comes my way. this has taught me to quickly learn how best to handle each horse to ensure safety of the horse and surrounding people. during my current position as dressage home groom at Keysoe International i have implemented top, industry leading standards of horse care, turnout for training, handling and management.  due to my honours degree from Hartpury and prior industry experience i am entrusted with caring for the stallions and working closely with veterinary professionals to implement any treatments.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Throughout my time at Hartpury University i have gained a wealth of knowledge on the science of the equine, allowing me to implement this knowledge to rehabilitate and reduce risk of injury with the horses that i work with. having many years experience working in the equine industry where i have worked freelance, sole charge and full time on a large variety of yards, predominantly dressage, i have learnt to handle any horse, including stallions, that come my way, clip, trim, bandage, first aid, veterinary bandages, long reining and lunging. I have also acquired great working knowledge of many FMBs therapy systems such as, dry treadmill, combi-floor, massage rug, light clusters and the salt and oxygen machine. with this knowledge and skill, i take pride in teaching any less experienced grooms wherever they may need it.
