Experience with Horses
I am a French-qualified horse-riding instructor specialising in Natural Horsemanship, with over 13 years of teaching and riding experience. I hold the International Equestrian Passport Level 2 (BHSII) and a Natural Horsemanship Diploma from the French Equestrian Federation.
Groundwork is my core strength and forms the foundation of my approach to training and teaching.
I conducted and organised numerous horsemanship clinics throughout France. My teaching spans from beginners to advanced riders across dressage, show jumping, and eventing. I have also served as a member of the jury for official examinations in France.
Alongside my equestrian career, I am also a French teacher at university level, having taught at Royal Holloway, Oxford, and Warwick. I also bring two years of experience working at Charterhouse School.
Key Skills
I have worked in a variety of yards and riding schools, including a teaching and training centre. I am confident working independently as well as part of a team, and I am highly organised and reliable.
I am fluent in five languages: French (mother tongue), English, Polish, German, and Italian. I have been teaching languages for over 11 years and am currently working at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Through experience, I have developed a strong psychological approach to both horses and riders, creating a positive and supportive learning environment. I am able to quickly assess riders’ abilities and adapt my teaching accordingly.
Equine Skills
- Teaching natural horsemanship (groundwork and ridden work)
- Organising horsemanship clinics across France
- Teaching private and group lessons (all levels; dressage and jumping)
- Retraining challenging horses
- Developing sport horse foundations through systematic training and groundwork
- Training students in horsemanship skills
- Assessing riders’ levels for qualifications
- Member of the jury for 1st and 2nd level examinations
- Administrative management of professional training programmes
- Advising on horse purchase and sales
- Participant in the Paris Horse Show
- Managing a yard of 30 horses
- Thalassotherapy, rehabilitation, and preparation of sport horses
Strengths and Weaknesses
I have ridden a wide range of horses, from just-backed youngsters to retired competition horses. While I gained extensive experience with more challenging horses earlier in my career, I now feel most confident working with established, well-schooled horses.
My main strength lies in natural horsemanship, particularly groundwork (in-hand work, liberty, transport issues, etc.). I take great satisfaction in helping horses and owners build clear communication and achieve their goals.
I am always keen to continue learning and would be particularly interested in exploring British teaching methods further.
I have strong interpersonal skills, supported by extensive experience in both the equestrian and education sectors. Clients and students often highlight my clarity, structure, spontaneity, and sense of humour. I adapt quickly to new environments and am known for being professional, reliable, resourceful, and resilient. I manage responsibilities and potentially demanding situations calmly and effectively.
I have been working with two nanny agencies and have extensive experience working with children.
I do not drive; however, I am able to commute reliably by bicycle and public transport, which has never been an issue.
