Experience with Horses
I Have worked in a riding school up until the age of 15, I have a level 3 extended diploma in equine management. I have been working at a livery yard for the past 2 years, where I have carried out general yard duties (turning out, bringing in, lunging, feeding, mucking out, evening checks, etc), quite often alone, am capable of driving a quadbike and trailer, and have ridden for liveries.
Key Skills
I am good at working as a team or alone, and have a passion for plaiting, clipping, and turning horses out to a high standard.
I am a sympathetic rider/handler, and would describe myself as firm but fair.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What I most enjoy about working with horses, is watching the hard work pay off. I strongly believe that the more you put in, the more you get out.
I would love to be given the opportunity to prove myself as a groom, and to gain knowledge and experience along the way. I am very open minded, and not afraid of hard work.
I am keen to get stuck in and gain as much experience as possible, from every opportunity I can get.
Requirements
I would love to possible be able to do my BHS stages, I currently hold a Stage 1 qualification but would love to do more.
I would need accommodation for myself if more than 25 miles away from the TA area, and accommodation for 1 horse.
I am very flexible with days and hours, and hardly go on holiday so I would give plenty of notice if I was to ever need time off.
