Experience with Horses
I have been riding since I was 8 years old. Since then have helped out at the yard where I learnt to ride, with leading younger children, and completing all yard duties and horse care duties. Have experience of riding a range of horses. Have worked at a private dressage yard in Suffolk, sole charge groom in charge of 5 horses. Have also volunteered with the Calvert Trust, RDA. I own a 17hh ISH who I hack & do flat work with due to previous injuries.
Key Skills
I am good at both working individually and with others. Although I am not particularly experienced with plaiting or clipping I am a very quick learner and can adapt to ensure I can carry out any necessary duties proficiently. I can muck out and groom efficiently and overall just love anything that involves spending time around horses whether that’s involving them directly or their welfare/stables.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
As said above anything that involves horses is my passion in life. I love riding and non-riding duties.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would like to gain more experience in other disciplines such as SJ/XC.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I think I am good at adapting and settling into new environments and will always listen and constantly learn on the job.
