Experience with Horses
I have competed at FEI 2* level eventing and was selected for the Scotland Under 18 FEI 2* Team. Alongside my eventing career, I have competed up to Medium dressage, regularly scoring 68%+ on both young horses and established horses through the levels. Which includes qualifying and placing at BD Area Festivals over multiple winter seasons and I’m currently training at Advanced Medium level.
The last 3 summers I have been training with Buck Davidson in the United States. During this time I have gained invaluable experience riding and managing top-level event horses, including being the main home rider for several of Buck’s upper-level horses, including multiple 4* and 5* horses. I also groomed for Buck’s two horses at Kentucky 5*, while helping manage a busy barn of 16 horses.
Most recently, throughout 2024/2025, I worked for World Cup New Zealand show jumper Claire Wilson, where I was the main rider responsible for producing her young show jumpers and hunters, both on the flat and jumping. During this period I also competed successfully in the New Zealand young horse classes.
I have lots of experience with young horses across both dressage and jumping and particularly enjoy developing horses through correct flatwork. My long-term aim is to continue progressing up the eventing levels.
My family run a livery yard, I have taken on the role as manager and dealing with the livery owners, stock control and dealing with the horses everyday.
Key Skills
HGV (cat 2) Licence
My skills with horses is that I confident with working alone as I do that most the time on my own yard and have done on other yards, however I also love working as a team. I can turn out to a high standard and have extensive experience at FEI events up to 5* level.
I’m confident with handling young stock and stallions, and also riding young horses. I pride myself with my organisational skills as I have developed these over the years at different yards and at my own yard at home.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I work with horses everyday, long days don’t phase me. I love working with competition & young horses and with a great & fun team. I also love getting more experience from different yards and professional riders, I love learning on the job and gaining more experiences.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Gaining more experience on a competition yard, would love a job where it was possible to ride young & competition horses and compete. International competitions experience would amazing and being able to improve even more on my turnout skills.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am extremely hard working, will always go the extra mile in my job. The standard of care I have for horses is high and enjoy turning out horses for competitions and everyday training. I have a lot of experience competing in many disciplines both internationally and national.
