Experience with Horses
I have worked in a variety of settings over the years, a riding school, livery yard, training yard, a college in the equine department. In these settings I have handled younger horses, taught lessons from a variety of children to young adults, worked with competition horses and have experience with carriage horses. I am qualified up to my BHS stage 3 care and lunge and my stage 2 teaching. I also ran a Pony Club branch at my previous employment. I have management experience and have previously managed the day to day running of a trekking yard as my last equine job.
Key Skills
I am a motivated sole worker but can also happily muck in as part of a team. I am able to clip and plait and also have my towing licence. From the ground I am confident handling a variety of horses and am a fairly confident rider with up to stage 2 riding qualifications on paper.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy being challenged and having variety in a job role. Working with horses requires you to constantly adapt and learn new things, which means the job is always exciting as it is never predictable.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am a hard working, motivated individual who thrives of being busy and learning new skills, I have always been flexible to meet work requirements and the horses welfare has always been my priority.
