Job Description
We are a professional competition yard specialising in the backing and producing of young event and dressage horses all the way through the levels to 5*. We pride ourselves in running the yard to an extremely high standard, with all the horses receiving 5 star care at our beautiful base in Cambridgeshire.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our professional, fun and supportive team. This is a key position within the yard, responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the yard, horse management and ensuring the highest standards are consistently maintained.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about the sport of dressage and eventing, who leads by example with a proactive, hands-on approach to yard management.
Minimum Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of horse care, including feeding, grooming, and turnout
- Exercising horses – riding, lunging & longlining
- Preparing horses for training, competitions, and travel including trimming, plaiting & clipping
- Leading and supervising other members of the team
- Monitoring horse health and liaising with clients, vets, farriers, and physios
- Maintaining yard organisation, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Grooming at competitions (plaiting, tacking up, aftercare)
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a professional competition yard
- Confident handling young and fit competition horses
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- High standards of turnout and horse welfare
- Full driving licence (HGV beneficial but not essential)
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
