We are looking for a Hunt Groom for our small family yard in South Herefordshire. Hunting available for the right applicant. You need to be happy loan working at times, managing your own time efficiently and pro actively. We are looking for someone who loves horses and keeps their needs central in the day to day running of the yard, requiring consistent, skilled care and a high level of organisation both on hunting and non hunting days. The job is a maximum of 40 hours a week (spread over 6 days) with the opportunity for the successful applicant to go out clipping, teaching, trimming etc, in their spare time.
Job Description
Daily care of hunters: feeding, mucking out, clipping, trimming up, rugging, and monitoring condition
Exercising horses appropriately to maintain fitness and soundness
Tack cleaning and maintenance to a high standard
Preparing horses and hunting kit for hunting days
Turning horses out to an excellent and traditional standard
Assisting with loading, travel, and care of horses away from home
Maintaining a safe, tidy, and well‑organised yard environment
Sorry, no holiday time can be taken during the hunting season

Willing to work early starts and extended hours during the season

Accommodation details
The job includes a two bedroom stone cottage, the rent for which is included with the job, your only responsibility is the Council Tax, all other bills are included, but capped to £100 per month (this has never been exceeded to date).
The cottage we offer is unfurnished, so you will require your own furniture to use.
