Job Description
Due to our wonderful Head Girl’s decision to leave and start a family, we are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and enthusiastic Yard Manager / Head Person to join our private professional full livery yard.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is an accomplished rider, takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of horse care, and above all has a genuine love and understanding of horses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the yard, ensuring excellent horse welfare and a well-organised, professional environment. Duties will include:
- Managing all aspects of horse care and yard routines
- Riding and exercising horses to a competent standard
- Supervising and motivating staff where required
- Liaising with owners, vets, farriers, physiotherapists and other professionals
- Maintaining high standards of turnout, cleanliness and presentation throughout the yard
- Night Checks
- Monitoring horse health and wellbeing, recognising issues promptly and taking appropriate action
- Some none equine duties, such as helping with sheep and dog sitting.
Minimum Requirements
- Extensive practical experience working with horses
- Confident and capable rider
- Strong knowledge of horse health, nutrition and welfare
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
- A positive attitude and genuine passion for horses
- Previous experience in a management or senior yard role preferred

A beautiful self contained one bedroom apartment, with central heating, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Unfurnished
Benefits
Five Days a week of which one must be a weekend.
