This is a lovely position for an experienced groom to help run a quiet yard for a keen, horseperson who still likes to compete on a semi-professional level at least once a month so you should be prepared to attend some stay-away shows. If a candidate was a keen rider and up for some schooling and riding in the ring that would be a real bonus and the riding opportunities in this job are plentiful in the fullness of time.
Must be able to drive a 7.5t lorry.
3/4 jumpers kept – 3 of which are returning to work plus a couple of oldies.
You should be capable of sole charge and able to do all usual yard duties to a high standard and willing to treat the horses as if they were your own. You also must be willing to do some competition Grooming (The client still jumps as a veteran at least once a month ).
Very friendly, homely team in a horsey area and lovely 33-acre farm environment. There is an outdoor school 20×60/horse walker/ good hacking
