Job Description
The Lewitz Stud in Northern Germany is searching for blacksmiths.
In 1992, Paul Schockemöhle, a successful businessman and former European Show Jumping Champion,
purchased a large site in the expanses of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The facilities comprise 3,000 hectare (30,000,000 sqm)land in total, spacious stables, large run-in stables and horse-appropriate group-housing for the approx. 5.500 horses. A constantly progressing health management and the stud-owned vet clinic provide the perfect care for the horses. These are best prerequisites to guarantee breeding and training at the highest possible professional level.
Almost 350 employees, among them 14 vets, are work around the clock for the benefit of the animals and ensure perfect conditions for the approx. 700 foals that are born every year.
There are least two positions available. On the one hand, we`re searching for a blacksmith for shoeing and trimming riding horses, on the other hand, one is needed for working on foals. One blacksmith could exclusively be in charge of shoeing, even if we could also imagine to give you chance to progress when you`re not an expert yet, but motivated and talented to become one in the near future.
The position available for trimming foals is also requiring a certain experience, but is offering you a chance to gain much experience by accompanying and solving problematical cases. We could also imagine a blacksmith in charge with foals and shoeing riding horses
The biggest breeding farm in Germany is offering you a chance to develop in a good atmosphere, with regulated work-time and good payment.
