Groom, rider (general, junior trainer, liberty trainer, show jumping beginner, eventing, endurance,) management facilities assistant, manager.

Experience with Horses Dear reader, Hello, Thank you for taking your time and reviewing this application. My professional career in horsemanship is at its early start. I have been working with animals, and horses of different breeds, ages, backgrounds and riding them for the past 3 years in various disciplines (except for the dressage) in several countries (Cyprus, Serbia,) majorly as a volunteer, but I had paid jobs as an assisting trainer, a trainer, or, sometimes, rather a “saver” of the horse and a beginner rider. For the past 8 months I am a proud and successful horse owner myself. I am constantly being trained myself with a professional trainer who is an international judge in show jumping and dressage. For the past year I have been deliberately reading, watching and practicing everything I could find in an open access to enrich my knowledge of horse psychology and communication ways. The best example is my 10 years old mare who has been absolutely wild, scared of its own shadow, minimally trained, and intolerant to people. She has been ridden with no basic training of going in the bit, always with other horses from her stables being around, had very low response on any aid, if any at all, would only respond to strong kicks of the riders, and has never jumped a fence. I have bought her out from a riding school. Currently, our riding is has progressed drastically, she jumps great (in the moment 70 cm), and can walk/trot/canter/turn/stop according to voice aids or body language being with no halter or a lunge, we cooperate absolutely free in an open space or even in the city area. Riding level: Level 10 Advanced I. Key Skills I am particularly good in liberty training, horses’ psychology and communication, maintenance, management, teaching or assisting, identifying required training plan both for the horses and people. I am good working alone or as a part of the team, or social environment, as long as there are animals around, that automatically defines the type of social environment and people. I am great in handling, riding, training and maintaining absolutely any horse of any breed, sex, age and level.  I do have a very rich experience, professional background and non-equine skills which would be highly suitable and effective in the related sectors, including working in a hotel, farm, any sort of related, or corelated with the industry events, you can review the details in my CV. But the most important skill is definitely the speed of learning and adaptation. No matter how many years people do something, how much educated they are, or which experiences they already do posses, if they can be learning daily and adapt to it happily, none of the mentioned above matters in the long term. Strengths and Weaknesses • What do you most enjoy about working with horses? Every part of the process, if to be honest, from making the stables shine and equipped with every requirement, to every element of

Rider

Experience with Horses I ride since I was a child, I’m specialised in show-jumping, dressage and eventing. In my life I rode every kind of horses. I jumped in 120cm competitions and I got my second horse when he was 6 years old, still young and green. We put a lot of work on him and how he’s great in flat working and showjumping. In a non-horse experience I’m graduated in Media Management, Communication and advertising, and I’ve a lot of experience as social media and marketing manager for several companies (I’m still working as a freelance for  Pavo, the feeding company for horses). I’m also a content creator for different italian companies on social media. Key Skills I don’t mind in working alone or with other horses, it’s not a problem for me. I clip, plait, handling and riding both stallions and young horses with no problems. My non equine skills are that I’m very calm and confident in whatever I do, because from horses I learnt this important lesson, to be always calm in whatever you do. Strengths and Weaknesses • What do you most enjoy about working with horses? The fact that you always learn something different from them, don’t mind how much experience do you have. • Is there anything you’d like to improve? I’d like to learn how to drive with the trailer and the C1. • Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? Because I have a lot of interest in learning everyday from people and horses. I am quick, clean, careful and precise in everything I do, and I always put a lot of focus in ground and flat working. Requirements • What would you like to do or gain in your next job? I’d like to ride and if is it possible also to compete. • Do you need accommodation? Yes • Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? If there’s the chance I’d like to bring with me my horse(s) • Do you have any ongoing commitments? No • Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? No

Experienced groom/manager looking for new full time position

Experience with Horses I have been around horses all of my life and have over 9 years full time experience in the equine industry. I first worked as a groom at a busy riding school and livery yard, in which I undertook all aspects of horse care and achieved my BHS stage 3 care and BHS stage 2 riding. I also assisted with office work and the onsite competitions as required. In November 2016 I relocated to a high end livery yard of leisure and competition horses, and got promoted to senior groom in April 2019. I lead the small team to ensure the horses received the highest possible standards of care and that the clients received a five star service. In November 2019 I started a role as a groom at a large stud and livery yard to learn more about stud work. I worked with the rest of the team to care for the stallions, broodmares, youngstock and liveries. I also handled the stallions for semen collection or in hand covering, and lead the team as required. From here I took on a new challenge as head groom/manager of a 24 box livery yard and am responsible for all aspects of running the yard including recruitment of staff and clients, ordering, and managing all the horses to suit their owners individual requirements. Key Skills I have excellent time management skills and enjoy working as part of and leading a team, although I am also confident enough to work alone as required. I am used to handling competition horses, stallions, and youngstock,  and I work to a high standard with good attention to detail. I am efficient and competent at all day to day aspects of horse care, and can also ride and lunge as needed. I am able to train and guide other members of staff, and can plan out the working day and allocate individual tasks. I am able to order feed, bedding, and any other supplies needed. I can recruit new staff, and also plan a rota and manage staff holiday allowance. Strengths and Weaknesses • I particularly enjoy grooming and getting to know the horses individual characters. I also find mucking out very satisfying and love seeing the horses I help to look after and their owners doing well. I am good at talking to the clients and working with them to ensure they are happy with the service provided • I am highly efficient, and can plan my time well to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a good standard. • I am able to clip and plait but have not done this on a regular basis so some training in this area would be beneficial. I am a quick learner so I’m sure that I will quickly improve my speed and technique in this area. I can pull manes and trim, but have not pulled a tail before. • I am hard working and adaptable to different

Home Yard Hand

I’ve been around and worked with horses on home yards for over forty years. I started riding when I was seven and my parents bought my first pony ( Welsh Section C) when I was nine. From a young age I was always interested in Western riding and what is now referred to as Natural horsemanship. I’ve carried that interest into adulthood referencing people such as Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman and their style of horsemanship originating in the Pacific North West of the USA. Working with horses as an equal and building a foundation from the ground up. Key Skills Working on home yards I used to being with others utilising my naturally calm and understanding nature to move things along at pace but also to help others where required. I can work alone but prefer an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment where everyone is working together. I’m not a trained groom and have no formal qualifications but I can manage a stable yard to a high standard including mucking out, grooming, monitoring horse health, exercising and maintaining tack; an all round hand on a home yard. I also having ranging estate management skills including gardening and forestry, machinery and building maintenance along with HR, budget and staff management. Strengths and Weaknesses • What Do you most enjoy about working with horses? I enjoy the impact they have on you and how you can influence them. • Is there anything you’d like to improve? I’d like to improve my horsemanship, I try to utilise the Californian style of light touch horsemanship where the slightest lift of rein is enough of a signal. • Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? I think I bring a sense of realism and confidence along with experience gained over years of being with horses at a base level. As I mentioned before I’m not a professional groom, however I can offer range of skills to an employer looking for someone who can deal with various roles and responsibilities. Requirements • What would you like to do or gain in your next job? I’d like to gain a deeper knowledge of horsemanship which could manifest in teaching or training. • Do you need accommodation? Yes, for my wife and I. • Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? No • Do you have any ongoing commitments? No • Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of? No
