Experience with Horses After working part-time during my school years, I preceded to take on more responsibilities including teaching people of all ages and abilities, from tiny children petting the ponies, to advanced adults wanting to improve on their core skills, to people with a variety of disabilities. Experience with Horses I have been riding for 20 years and have experience in show jumping as I have competed up until 1m20 but have jumped higher in training. I have occasionally worked with young horse (5years old). I currently work as a groom Feeding, haying and providing water for equines. Mucking/skipping out, bedding down, sweeping the yard. Keeping allocated areas tidy such as the feed room, tack room and storage areas. Keeping the yard tidy and safe in line with health and safety regulations. Tack cleaning. Turning out or bringing in from the field/caring for equines living out in the field. Putting on and removing rugs as appropriate. Tacking up and untacking equines. Grooming/applying bandaging. Caring for equines after being exercised or lunged. Planning safe routes to take riders on hacks Key Skills I can work well alone but with others as well. I am easily coachable and am always willing to learn. I can lounge horses, ride them on the flat and over jumps as well as groom them and take on any other work eg. Feed and more. Experience with Horses I have been around horses my whole life, and have owned my own since 2020, a cob who we brought on from a 5 year old to be a great all rounder. I have also, for the past year, worked part time at my yard, as well as having done work experience at a professional eventing yard. Lincolnshire – Trainee and/or Home Groom/Rider (optional), Eventing

Due to one of our girls heading off travelling we are on the lookout for someone with a great work ethic, to join our fun and friendly team. Working with professional GB & NZ event riders. We typically have around 20 horses in work, this mainly being eventers with a few pure dressage and showjumpers alongside. We would be open to the idea of either taking on a working pupil who is less experience but eager to learn the ropes or a groom who has some experience in the industry/ with competition horses but still has lots to learn from our current experienced team. The role includes all basic horse management and care. There is opportunity to go to some shows if this is something that interests you or equally we can offer a more home-based role with or without riding. Beautiful shared accommodation in a 3 bedroom cottage offsite.


Groom, trainer and dressage rider

Experience with Horses I’ve been working for 7 years with horses. Eventing, showjumping and nowadays dressage horses. I really want to be a groom in the top of the dressage competitions and yards. I’m a young person but I’m really into my job and my obligations I would really love to join a nice and interesting job out of my country. Experience with Horses I have nearly 20 years experience owning and working with horses. I currently own a Belgium warmblood and a Spanish bred rescue. Key Skills What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc I am great working in a team with others, but can also manage tasks on my own if necessary. When it comes to handling horses I am very comfortable with any breed and gender as I have had experience with all. I am also comfortable with handling young horses and ponies. I personally compete dressage and so can turn out horses to a high standard.

Experience with Horses I studied at the royal agricultural university BSc (hons) applied equine science and business. I have ridden and owned horses since a very young age as my family is horsey (mum a riding instructor). I have experience in several disciplines polo, dressage, show jumping, working hunter, pony club and have worked in nurseries if working with children is required. Worked with a range of breeds and ages of horse from 3- 25 years old all different levels. My most recent job role consisted of helping to retrain ex racehorses in to polo alongside grooming. Experience with Horses I have worked in a variety of equestrian jobs. My current role is Yard Manager on a private yard of reining horses. I have worked there for nearly seven years looking after eight horses with two other grooms. This is a varied role including maintaining the yard, arena and site to a very high standard and taking care of llamas, alpacas, cats and dogs. I have also accompanied the owner to competitions for two seasons. Key Skills I am able to perform all yard duties to a very high standard. I am able to work as part of a team or on my own. Strengths and Weaknesses I enjoy all aspects of caring for horses. I am dedicated, hard working and reliable. I love learning new skills and continually improving. I have not had an opportunity to keep up to date with plaiting and certain turnout skills as very different turnout for reining.

The Centre has helped many disabled children and adults over the years and some have gone on to become National and Olympic Champions in the sport of Para-Dressage, (including Sophie Christensen, Natasha Baker, and Julie Payne). Their volunteers and instructors help children and adults with a range of disabilities get a sense of independence as well as exercise and rehabilitation. The yard has 11/12  staff and numerous keen volunteers. The coaches, in partnership with physiotherapists and volunteers, work with riders who have a variety of disabilities. These include learning difficulties, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, paraplegia, rheumatoid arthritis, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, deafness, visual impairment, and limb amputation. For some, who cannot ride just being around horses has a well-being benefit. I am currently studying at Hartpury University and College for an extended diploma in Equine Management. This is a 2 year course, I achieved a Distinction in Year 1 and based on marks to date, am expecting to achieve a double distinction * and a Distinction in Year 2 alongside a Hartpury certificate. I also have 9 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science. I am looking for a role when I leave Hartpury that will allow me to continue to expand my knowledge in an employed role. I am particularly interested in equine rehabilitation or vet nursing. Freelance groom

Experience with horses i have been with around horse since 3 years old. I started ridding horses at 5 and have excelled ridding through the years. I’m a confident experienced rider. On the ground I have worked at 2 livery yards, one part time dealing with horses/ ponies and the ridding school, mucking out, tacking up. the second being being full time at a ridding school, mucking out, tacking up, exercising horses, turning out of horses. I also completed my Bhs stage 1 and my first aid course.

The entrance to the estate is at the end of the 40 mph sign and is located between Newbury and the M4 junction 13.


Shawdene Stud

I have a miniature Shetland pony stud which is my hobby.  My breeding has proved very successful and I have a number of home bread prize winning ponies.  We show them at the County Shows within a certain radius and we attended group shows as well.  It is important that I can leave someone in charge when we are away, sometimes over night, but rarely. I also have a Fell pony which I ride around the estate, but he needs to be exercised, a retired Welsh show pony, a retired hunter and a young racehorse which is sound now, but was retired as he did damage to a tendon.  I would love someone who was interested in dressage to take him on. The yard is just north of  Newbury close to the main house on my farming estate, however it is up a  3/4 mile drive and being mobile really is essential. The accommodation is on the yard and comprises a single bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and sitting room.  It is centrally heated with all utility expenses paid.
