There are 8 horses in work and four children’s ponies (under 13.2). The owner also has 10 more young homebred horses off-site approx. These are kept 30 minutes away and come to the yard once their riding career is underway. This role requires a flexible individual who can undertake the duties of Yard manager/Children’s help, (two well-behaved girls aged 6 and 8, some school runs at either end of the day may be required. Some overnight stays when the owner is at shows and the children cannot attend. These overnight stays will only be 8 or 9 times a year approx.) Also, some help is ideal with looking after the yard (protection) dog when the rider is away at shows if you were not attending the show. Experience, enthusiasm for competitions, and experience as a competition groom for an affiliated level rider are useful, no matter the discipline. You will need to be approachable and keen enough to train others and able to educate younger apprentices as/when. Ideally, you would have an HGV2 (Cat C) license or be willing to be put through the test. Working well within a team is a must. This is an additional position coming available due to growth of the business. Lovely and modern accommodation available. Our current team consists of professionals and apprentice/intern level people already. We offer the live in position to a candidate that is open to 6 days a week. Job Description A private show jumping stable based near Rugby is seeking an experienced rider. This role will be primarily to help develop our young horses, though there will occasionally be opportunity to jump some more established horses. We are seeking someone experienced in producing young horses and with experience jumping young horse classes at international competitions, though national experience alone may be considered. There will be opportunities to jump the horses at national and international competitions. We are passionate about producing the horses correctly, keeping them healthy and happy for long sport careers. Though there will be help and guidance from the other riders and manager, we need someone that has a good understanding of how to confidently and correctly produce a young horse so that they have positive experiences. This role can be live in or out – small single accommodation is available on site. 5 or 5.5 day week.
