The Grooms List How-To Guide for Jobseekers!
If you’re new to The Grooms List by Caroline Carter Recruitment you might like a few little pointers as to how to get the best out of the website! Here are some simple guides to:
- Adding and updating contact details

- Saving certain job vacancies so you can find them easily later on

Add or Edit Contact Details
On The Grooms List website your contact details are kept separate from your Jobseekers Profile. Whenever you wish to review or update your profile image, email address, password, telephone number, address or your social media links you can find them all under “My Account”. There are 3 ways you can get to “My Account”:

Add and Update your Jobseekers Profile
You can add and edit your Jobseekers Profile via 2 ways:
Your Jobseekers profile contains all the information we use to match you to your perfect job. The answers you give are searchable and allow us to find suitable candidates when we are recruiting for a specific job. It’s very important that the information in your Jobseekers profile is accurate, detailed, and up to date – especially your start date! Any information you leave out will slow your job applications down and may cause us to miss you out when we are matching candidates to job vacancies. When completing the preset fields, to quickly scan for the options you need simply start typing to trigger the option filter.
Look out for multi-select options! You can easily select more than one at a time by holding the control key (command key on a Mac) as you select options. This keeps the options list open for you. On a mobile device these become check boxes for you to tap.
If there are any fields you don’t understand, or you’re not sure how to complete look out for guidelines – simply click or tap the little gold circles for advice!
When you register you will be taken to the Add Jobseekers Profile form automatically. If you haven’t added your Jobseekers Profile yet you can do so via the links shown below.
Once you’ve submitted your Jobseekers Profile it will come to The Grooms List team for approval before it’s submitted to our database. This allows us to make sure that your Jobseekers Profile contains the right information to give you the best chance of securing a good job. If you’ve submitted a Jobseekers Profile but find that you can’t apply for jobs it’s probably because your profile is pending approval. You can double check by following the links shown above and checking here:
You can update your Jobseekers Profile as often as you like. When you update your Jobseekers Profile the website lets us know so we are aware that your requirements might have changed. If you find your profile is “pending” it’s because we are yet to review your updated information!

Show or hide your Jobseekers Profile from Employers
Once you have added your Jobseekers Profile and it’s been approved by The Grooms List team you will have a notification bar appear in your account area which tells you whether your profile is visible or hidden in the search results.
Visible Jobseekers Profiles appear in search results, so potential employers can find you and contact you with offers of work
Hidden Jobseekers Profiles DON’T appear in search results, and only The Grooms List team know you’re there. You may wish to hide your Jobseekers Profile if you don’t want your current employer knowing you’re looking for a new job!
NB: personal and contact details are never publicly visible. Only employers with a current subscription to The Grooms List website can access your personal details.
Set Up Your Very Own Job Alerts!
Control what jobs you are alerted to by setting up your very own job alerts! You can set up as many job alerts as you need, and edit or delete them whenever you like.
Top Tip for Job Alerts!
The Keyword searches the job title and description (e.g. Keyword = “BHSAI”). You can leave the Keyword blank so you receive notification of ALL jobs that match your other requirements.
To receive every new job that is added to The Grooms list add an alert title of your choice, select the location as Anywhere and leave the rest blank – it’s as easy as that!

It’s very easy to filter search results on The Grooms List. You can find the Search Jobs link under Jobseeker Central in the website menu. This will show you a list of all the jobs on the website. You can narrow these jobs down by your various requirements using the search filter on the right-hand side (if you are using a mobile device the search filter will be underneath the jobs list).

Save Jobs for Later
Seen a job you like? Save it so you can easily find it later!
Look out for the Save Job option in the search results and at the bottom of job descriptions!
Find your saved jobs later on!
You will find your saved jobs in your account area alongside your Job Alerts in the menus!
